250th Celebration
The Northern Lehigh 250 Celebration will begin with History Day at Vigilant Fire Company, 110 S. Walnut St., Slatington, with Fire Memorabilia & Photo Displays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 2.
There will be two guest speakers, about “The Forts of the Blue Mountains” & “One Head, One Heart” — Lenni Lenape Indians.
The “Kickoff” part of the celebration will be at the Slatington Farmers Market on May 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. with the band the Majestics, displays and fireworks.
The main 250 Celebration will continue on May 9 at Bulldog Stadium, Bulldog Lane, Slatington, starting at 2 p.m. with the Opening Ceremony with the Slatington Legion and Pennsylvania National Guard.
There will be a wide variety of entertainment, exhibits, educational information and food items.
In case of inclement weather, events will move to the Northern Lehigh School Gym & Auditorium.
St. John’s UCC
May 17 will be Religious Day with A Multi-Denominational Service at St. John’s UCC Church, 425 Kuntz St., Slatington, at 2 p.m. There will be Traditional Church Service, Celebration of Local Churches, Histories, Heritage and Ministry.
The event is sponsored by The Northern Lehigh Pastoral Association.
Oldies Dance
The Slatington Skeet Club will hold an Oldies Dance with D on June 13 from 7-10 p.m.
The Slatington Skeet Club is located at 8112 Skeet Club Road, Slatington.
Heritage Day
July 4 will be Heritage Day at the Slatington Baptist Church, 509 Main St., Slatington. Community Picnic to follow at the Slatington Memorial Park.
