Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter in response to the article in the Times News on April 8 regarding E-bike safety concerns. There is a safety issue.

I was traveling toward the four-way stop by the luncheon in Weissport on April 6 at approximately 10:20 p.m., to get onto Main Road, when three E-bikes were coming towards me. It was dark and they had no lights and their riders were wearing dark clothing.

I only saw them at the last second. They did not stop for stop signs.

One came at me on the left, one came at me from the right and one came at me off center. I could have hit one of them had I not seen them when I did.

This is becoming a traffic hazard.

I just thought I’d add my concerns to those of Darren Frehulfer.

I think there needs to be attention given to this situation of E-bikes not following the rules.
