The Panther Valley Daughters of Mary held their 31st annual Holy Mass and dinner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Nesquehoning.

The guest speaker was Dr. John Degenhart, a Hazleton chiropractor, who used the work “Joy”as his topic.

He said the “J” stands for Jesus, the spirit of Christ in all of our lives; “O,” for others who do good and show compassion; and “Y” for Yourself,” saying the members own their outlook on life and Christian attitudes.

Officers of the Daughters are Mary Ann Hartranft, president; Veronica Bazik, vice president; Frances Rutch, secretary; Lena Collura, treasurer; Theresa McLaughlin, chaplain; and Mary Mogilski, publicity chairwoman.
