The Pennsylvania State Police have released the results of the department’s Easter holiday enforcement initiatives across the commonwealth.
Police conducted the traffic enforcement detail for the period of April 3-5.
In its report, PSP said officers investigated 532 crashes across the commonwealth, including six that resulted in fatalities. Police said in 42 of the crashes, drivers were found to be impaired while being behind the wheel.
During the holiday period, officers arrested 286 people for driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances. They issued 3,230 citations for speeding, 335 citations for failure to wear seat belts, and 40 citations for drivers not having children secured in safety seats.
The report breakdown includes:
