Carbon Chamber, CareerLink host job fair

The Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Corporation and Pennsylvania CareerLink Carbon County held Part 1 of the 2026 Carbon PA CareerLink Job Fair on Thursday at the Carbon Plaza Mall, located at 1241 Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East in Lehighton.

More than two dozen employers were present at the job fair, recruiting new talent and connecting with interested potential employees. Attendees were welcomed, whether they were seeking a career change, a seasonal job, or entering the workforce for the first time.

“Twenty-five employers present today is one of our best turnouts for a job fair, but we’re always looking for new businesses to join the Carbon Chamber,” said Emily Sewilo, program coordinator for the Chamber. “Businesses of all sizes and industries are welcome to join, as well as nonprofits.”

The Carbon Chamber can also provide help to job seekers and those looking to improve or change their careers.

One example was with Sewilo at Thursday’s job fair. Haley Kuehner, a sophomore at Lehigh Carbon Community College. Kuehner is currently the marketing and events intern with the Carbon Chamber.

“As a media production/ graphic design student at LCCC, we are required to complete an internship to graduate,” Kuehner said. “I was referred by photographer Lynn Shupp of the internship available with the Chamber, and I got the opportunity.”

Representatives of CareerLink were also present at the job fair.

“We help people find in-demand careers by helping with resume writing, interview preparation, and even transportation,” said Lynette Serrano, site administrator for CareerLink.

“Many potential employees require transportation to interviews and jobs, so we come out into the community to provide transportation to them,” said Angela Fazio, CareerLink program supervisor.

CareerLink representatives said that job seekers who hold commercial driver’s licenses or certified nursing assistant certifications are in high demand.

Job fair attendees also had an opportunity to get their professional headshot taken by Michael Straub Photography.

Part 2 of the job fair will be held on Aug. 20 at CareerLink in Nesquehoning.
