State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 42-year-old woman from Kunkletown is facing Title 75 charges after police made a traffic stop in the area of the Covered Bridge and Lower Smith Gap roads, Lower Towamensing Township.
They stopped her at 12:23 p.m. April 4 in a 2014 Ford Focus. Police said she was found to have an ignition interlock license and was driving a vehicle that did not have the device on it.
• A 58-year-old Brodheadsville woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 9:44 p.m. April 3.
She was stopped in a 2006 Hyundai Sonata for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Route 209 in Polk Township.
• Robert Cordery, 31, of Kunkletown, was charged with fleeing and eluding police after an incident at 3:23 p.m. April 2 on Pohopoco Drive, Towamensing Township.
Police said they were conducting a stationary patrol in the area Koch Road and Pohopoco Drive when they observed a white Zhejiang motorcycle that did not display a proper license plate traveling west on Pohopoco Drive. They said Cordery failed to yield to their attempt to stop the cycle and led them on a short pursuit that was terminated for safety reasons.
He was identified through investigative means, taken into custody and charged, according to police.
• Brandon Sargent, 36, of East Stroudsburg, was charged with burglary after police were called to investigate an incident at 8:20 p.m. April 2 at Altemose Hauling, 1124 Interchange Road, Polk Township.
Police said the victims are a 26-year-old man from Gilbert and a 16-year-old boy from Sciota.
Police said Sargent caused damage to a building on the property and assaulted the juvenile.
He is also charged with driving under the influence after fleeing in a 2025 Ford, police said.
• A 33-year-old man from Kunkletown was cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to a disturbance at 8:52 p.m. April 1 on West Nottingham Drive, Polk Township.
Police said the man arrived at the home of a 61-year-old Kunkletown woman and pushed her when she opened her front door before leaving the scene.
• Police received a theft by deception/identity report from a 74-year-old Saylorsburg man.
The resident of Meixsell Valley Road, Eldred Township, went to the police barracks to report the incident at 10 a.m. April 1.
Police said he did not sustain a monetary loss from the incident.
