Six to be inducted into Hall of Fame at Marian HS
Marian Catholic High School, Hometown, has announced the induction of six people to the Class of 2026 of its Hall of Fame. The event will take place on May 2 in the John P. Malarkey ’51 Gymnasium at the school.
“We look forward to the Marian family gathering to honor six remarkable individuals whose lives and legacies have shaped the spirit of Marian in profound ways,” said the Rev. Robert Finlan ’86 CBHS, principal.
“Together, they represent the heart and soul of Marian. Their stories are not just of achievement, but of impact — leaving a lasting imprint on the lives of students, alumni, faculty, staff and the entire Marian family.”
To be inducted are:
Janet L. Bonenberger
Janet L. Bonenberger has been a steadfast champion of Marian through her leadership, philanthropy and service. Although she did not attend Marian, she proudly considers herself “adopted” into the Marian family.
Janet and her husband, Bill Bonenberger ’76, are founders and owners of W.B. Homes Inc., a real estate development firm in Montgomery County. Together, they have supported numerous charitable and educational initiatives.
Bonenberger joined Marian’s board of directors in 2019 and served as chair of the Advancement Committee during a pivotal period in the school’s history. In response to a challenge from the Diocese of Allentown to ensure Marian’s financial sustainability, she helped reestablish the Advancement Office, rebranded annual giving as the “Marian Fund” and founded the “1954 Legacy Society.” She also introduced Marian to BLOCS (Business Leaders Organized for Catholic Schools) to expand participation in Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program, significantly increasing tuition assistance opportunities.
Janet and Bill are parents of Lauren (Nick), Chelsea (Brad) and Matthew (Kayleigh), and grandparents to Bailey, Cole, Whitney, Etta and Rowan.
In addition to her service to Marian, Bonenberger leads W.B. Homes’ annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s in memory of her mother and actively supports Williamson College of the Trades.
“Though I grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and never had the opportunity to attend Marian, I feel blessed to have been adopted into this incredible family,” she said. “I have seen firsthand how a Catholic education shapes young men and women of faith, discipline and service. I hope that in some small way, my work has helped ensure that Marian will continue to serve families for the next 75 years and beyond.”
Joseph Svetik
Joseph Svetik ’67 devoted his entire professional career to the financial services industry, demonstrating exceptional leadership in banking operations, risk management and strategic growth. In 2013, he was inducted into The Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers Hall of Fame. Since 2014, he has served as director and treasurer of JTNB Bancorp and the Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank. Svetik is a retired certified public accountant.
As a Marian student, he was deeply involved in the school community, participating in forensics, dance committee, prom committee, bowling, golf, track and weight lifting. He worked at the Acme store in Jim Thorpe to help pay his tuition, an experience that shaped his work ethic and determination.
A graduate of the Penn State University with a degree in accounting and a minor in economics, Svetik has been married to his wife, Rosemarie Friel Svetik ’69, for over 54 years. They have one daughter and three grandchildren and reside in Chalfont.
“Marian taught me discipline, responsibility and the value of hard work,” Svetik said. “Working to pay my tuition made my education even more meaningful. The lessons I learned at Marian guided me throughout my career and my life.”
Monsignor Daniel J. Yenushosky, V.G.

In 1995, he received Papal Honors with the title of monsignor.
During his time at Marian, he participated in yearbook, art club and social action club and earned the distinction of Eagle Scout.
“My years at Marian were formative in my vocation,” he said. “The priests, the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the lay faculty challenged us to grow in Christian virtue and to work hard to achieve our goals. Marian helped lay the foundation for my life of priestly service.”

After a 40-year IBM career as a software developer and technical architect, Guth is now enjoying retirement. Beyond her professional work, she is most proud of her role as a devoted wife to Kurt and proud mother of daughter Taylor and son Quinn.
She has also dedicated time to her community, serving on the parochial school board and chairing numerous gala and fundraising committees for the Catholic elementary and high schools attended by her children in Connecticut.
“Marian gave me lifelong friendships, confidence and a strong foundation of faith,” Guth said. “The teachers and mentors who believed in me inspired me to lead and to serve wherever life has taken me.”
