Michael A. Lighting, 52, of Slatington, were injured after a one-vehicle crash at 8:23 a.m. March 14 on Route 248 in Lower Towamensing Township, police said.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said that Lighting was transported by personnel from the Palmerton Community Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

He was driving a 2003 Toyota Tacoma that traveled over “black ice” while rounding a left curve in the road, causing him to lose control of the pickup, police said. It spun and struck the center median.
