Lansford Borough Council approved sending police Sgt. Shawn Nunemacher to a Taser Energy Weapon Instructor Course on June 8 and 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carbon County 911 Center.

The course is for his recertification as an instructor, and he trains other officers.

The cost is $895, in addition to the officer’s regular pay for the days, and it is a budgeted expense, Mayor Denise Leibensperger said.
