Allen D. Ruter was welcomed as the new dean of business affairs at Lehigh County Community College.

Ruter, who resides in Slatington R.1 with his wife, Sandy, and two sons, Joshua and Jed, comes to LCCC from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, where he held the position of controller for seven years.

A graduate of the University of Baltimore with a degree in accounting, he began his career at the university as an assistant to the fiscal officer, went on to become an internal accountant at Air Products and Chemicals in its International Gas Division, and then joined the staff at Muhlenberg in 1978.

He is a native of Addison, New York, and is a U.S. Army veteran.
