PVEN fundraiser
The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network will again partner with Red Robin for a Foodtastic Fundraiser. It is being held from 4-8 p.m. today at Red Robin, 1792 N. Ninth St., Bartonsville.
Participate by showing the event flyer or by ordering online at redrobin.com or on the Red Robin mobile app. For online and app orders, add the fundraiser to the cart before checkout so the purchase counts for the fundraiser.
Line dancing
West End Memorial American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert is hosting line dancing tonight, which is open to the public, from 6-9 p.m.
Lenten services
• Effort UMC will hold its Lenten service at 7:15 p.m. It will be preceded by the final Lenten Bible Study based on “The Chosen.”
• Members of St. Matthew’s ECC in Kunkletown are reminded that tonight’s Lenten service will be at 6:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Community Resource Center, 177 Main Road, Lehighton.
• Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville will hold its Lenten Healing service at 7 p.m.
Missions dinner
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Brodheadsville is holding its monthly West End Missions dinner at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Pleasant Valley School District has a board of directors meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the conference room at the administration building in Brodheadsville.
AA meeting
Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville is one site in the West End that hosts Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Meetings are Mondays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.
Open food pantry
The West End Food Pantry in Kunkletown, an emergency food provider, is open from 9 a.m. to noon every first and third Saturday of the month.

SFRC pantry
Effort UMC’s Supplemental Food Resource Center pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. The church is still seeking soups for the pantry.
Property tax/rent rebate
The state Department of Revenue’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate program is now accepting applications for rebates on property taxes or rent paid in 2025.
The program is open to residents 65 years and older; widows and widowers 50 and older; and people with disabilities 18 and older. The maximum rebate is $1,000. The income limit for this year is $48,110.

Egg hunts set
• St. Matthew’s ECC is holding a community Easter egg hunt from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the church in Kunkletown. Children from baby to age 12 will hunt with their respective age group. There will also be snacks and story time in addition to the egg hunt.
• Cornerstone Community Church in Kunkletown is holding an annual egg hunt at the church from 3-5 p.m. Saturday. It is a free event with egg hunt, prizes, story walk, snacks and ice cream.
Youth Trout Day
The statewide Mentored Youth Trout Day is set for Saturday, while the statewide opening day of trout season is set for April 4.
The 2026 adult trout stocking schedule by county is available on the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission website, www.pa.gov/agencies/fishandboat. Additional stocking information on waterways and meeting locations for volunteers is also available on the website.
Palm Sunday
• Effort UMC will have Palm Sunday worship services at 8:30 a.m. and at 11 a.m. The 11 a.m. service will include a children’s pageant.
• McMichaels UMC is having egg hunt after its 9 a.m. worship service on Palm Sunday, with a craft for the children during worship time. An egg hunt will follow the service, around 9:30. All are welcome to come to both events. There will be a free luncheon and all are reminded to bring a basket for the egg hunt.
• Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Brodheadsville will hold Palm Sunday services at 5 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and in Spanish at 1 p.m.
• Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kresgeville will hold its Palm Sunday/Passion Sunday worship service at 9:30 a.m. It will include Holy Communion with palms and congregational reading of the Passion narrative. At 2 p.m. the church will serve Holy Communion at the Getz Home in Jonas.
• St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effort will hold its worship service at 9:30 a.m. It will include Holy Communion.
Its “bucket fund” will benefit The Garden of Giving.
• St. Peter’s UMC in Saylorsburg will hold its worship service at 9 a.m. with a Singsperation included.
Christian Education will follow at 10:15 a.m.
• St. Matthew’s ECC in Kunkletown is holding its Palm Sunday service at 9 a.m. It will include band and breakfast, and the packing of Easter meal bags that will be distributed at the West End Food Pantry for Easter.
Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville is holding its Palm Sunday services at 8 and 10:30 a.m.
Scholarship reminder
The Effort Women’s Group is seeking applicants for this year’s scholarship program. The program is open to the church’s young people who will be entering a college or university in the fall.

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Brodheadsville is hosting a Sharing the Cross event for teens grades 7-12 on Good Friday, April 3, beginning at 10:45 a.m. in McCawley Hall and concluding after the Lord’s Passion, which begins at 7 p.m. All parish teens are invited. Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Brodheadsville will have four different services and activities on Holy Saturday, April 4. They are: 9 a.m., Tenebrae Service; 1 p.m., Blessing of the Easter Baskets; 2 p.m., egg hunt; and 8 p.m., The Great Easter Vigil Mass.

• Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville offers three Easter worship services. The first, an informal spoken service with Holy Communion, is on Saturday, April 4 at 5 p.m. Services on Easter Sunday, April 5, are at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. They are festival worship services with Holy Communion.
• St. Matthew’s ECC in Kunkletown begins its Easter celebration with a 6 a.m. service in the grove. Breakfast will follow in the Fellowship Hall. And at 9 a.m. the worship service will take place in the sanctuary.
• St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effort will worship at 9 a.m. The service will include Holy Communion.
• Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Brodheadsville will have the Easter Masses at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and in Spanish at 1 p.m.
Hoagie fundraiser
Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville is holding a hoagie sale fundraiser. Offered are turkey, ham or Italian. They and customizable with add-ons such as cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar or mayo. Order deadline is April 12.

Special event
The Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club has announced its celebration of Sportsmen’s Day will be held from 12:30-4 p.m. April 19 at the club’s home at 122 Gun Club Lane in Saylorsburg. The public is welcome.
The doors will open at 11 a.m. Raffles will be ongoing throughout the day.
Tickets will have 33 prizes, plus two door prizes, and include refreshments.
