America250PA essay contest open to Monroe students

State Sen. Rosemary M. Brown, R-40, announced a high school student in the 40th Senatorial District will be invited to a Pennsylvania Senate ceremonial meeting in partnership with America250PA.

The student will be selected through an essay competition.

The 40th District includes all of Monroe County and parts of Wayne and Lackawanna counties.

Brown is inviting one student and a guardian, from grades 9-12 to join her. A travel stipend will be provided to help offset costs. Students must submit their essays by noon March 30.

Essays must be between 250 and 500 words on the subject: “What the Declaration of Independence means to me.” The winning student will be notified on April 3. Submissions can be made on Brown’s website: senatorbrown40.com/essay-contest/
