A West Penn Township man has asked for improved dialogue between the municipality and the public.
Resident Howard Pryda told the board of supervisors recently that he believes communication with the public is lacking.
“We need some way to communicate with the people of the township,” Pryda said. “We don’t have any way to communicate with people.”
It was then noted that the township has a web page, but Pryda suggested the township look to get a Facebook page.
Board Chairman Tony Prudenti said he believes the township is fortunate to be able to disseminate its news through local media outlets.
Regardless, Pryda remained steadfast in his belief that they need some way to communicate with the people in the township.
Prudenti agreed there should be some outlet, adding at one time they talked about a newsletter.
In the past, he said residents would attend township meetings to settle their issues.
“I always found that if people had a problem with the township and they don’t get it satisfied, they tend to come to a meeting,” Prudenti said. “But I like the part about (communication).”
