Palmerton Cat Project sells tickets for bingo April 12
Volunteers for the Palmerton Cat Project sold tickets this past weekend in advance of their Gift Card and Cash Bingo and Basket Raffle event on April 12 at the Aquashicola Fire Company, located at 207 Little Gap Road, Palmerton.
Doors open at 10 a.m. and the game starts at noon.
In addition to the basket raffle and bingo game, there will be a 50/50 drawing, and the firehouse kitchen will be open.
Cat Project Vice President Stacy Goldberg and volunteer Zachary Litchauer sold the advance tickets along with T-shirts, lanyards, Gertrude Hawk chocolate and homemade plush Easter bunnies for baskets. The two were set up at St John’s Lutheran Church at 2915 Fireline Road in Palmerton.
Goldberg said they held the small event for people who won’t or are unable to purchase tickets online. “We have many folks who aren’t comfortable purchasing things online, or maybe don’t access the internet. So we are thankful that the church was able to provide us with this space to do so,” Goldberg said.
Litchauer, who handles the website duties and designs flyers for the Cat Project, said he got involved with the organization because Goldberg is his aunt and he loves all animals. “I’ve been volunteering for about three years. I have five cats, and I am a big animal lover in general. I enjoy performing web admin duties for the Cat Project’s website as well as designing the flyers for our events. It feels like I’m making a difference,” Litchauer said.
The volunteers were also selling raffle tickets for an all-expenses-paid vacation to Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head, South Carolina. The lucky winner will receive an 8-day, 7-night trip to either destination in South Carolina. Tickets for the vacation will also be sold at the bingo game, and the winner is eligible to take their trip up until April 2027.
“We really have some nice items this year, and I am excited about it. It’s going to be our best event yet,” Goldberg said.
Tickets sold in advance have a $5 discount. If you missed the ticket sale this past Saturday, you can still purchase tickets online by visiting palmertoncatproject.org or contacting Goldberg at 610-824-2626. Additionally, those who bring an item from the organization’s wish list will be entered to win a special prize.
If you are unable to make the bingo game, cash donations are always welcome and appreciated, and can be made by emailing donations@palmertoncatproject.org, by visiting the website, or by contacting Goldberg. In addition to cash donations, the Cat Project needs items like food, kitty litter, blankets, cleaning products, and so on. The full list of needed items can be found on the website.
