Nolehi to induct Croll Souders into Ring of Honor

Former Northern Lehigh softball player Amy (Croll) Souders will be inducted into the school’s Ring of Honor at a presentation before Saturday’s Bulldog softball game against rival Palmerton.

The standout pitcher was a three-year varsity softball player, lettering in 1991, 1992, and 1993. During her high school career, she helped lead her team to two Centennial League championships and a district title, which was the first in school history, while also earning Centennial League All-Star honors in both 1992 and 1993.

Known for her dominance in the circle, Amy set a school shutout record and threw multiple no-hitters, establishing herself as one of the most accomplished pitchers in program history. She was also a member of the National Honor Society, demonstrating excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

Amy continued her softball career at Moravian College, where she became the most decorated pitcher in program history.

A four-year varsity letter winner from 1994-97, she earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-East Region honors from 1995-97, was named a MAC All-Commonwealth League All-Star for three consecutive seasons, and received NCAA East Region All-American honors in 1997.

Amy helped lead Moravian to MAC Commonwealth championships in 1995 and 1997, served as team captain, and was named Team MVP in both 1996 and 1997.

By the end of her career, she held every school pitching record, including wins, strikeouts, innings pitched, ERA, shutouts, and no-hitters.

In recognition of her outstanding collegiate career, she was named Moravian College’s Outstanding Senior Female Athlete in 1997 and was later inducted into the Moravian College Hall of Fame in 2007, as well as with the 1995 softball team in 2013.

Amy graduated magna cum laude from Moravian College and later earned her Master’s degree in Education from Wilkes University.

Her two sons, Luke and Nick, were outstanding athletes and students themselves. In her free time, she participates in a competitive cornhole league and for a Regional ACL Team.

She also continues to give back to her community as a teacher in the Easton Area School District.
