The Weatherly American Legion Auxiliary Unit 360 presented Community Service Awards certificates to Weatherly Area Junior High National Honor Society members. From left are: Georgeann Herling, auxiliary president; students Sophia Durham, Halena Williams, MaBella Gerhard and Mikayla Pugh; and Carol Eroh, children and youth co-chairman. The students assisted in counting the more than 1,000 pairs of socks collected by students during the ALA’s Warm Tootsies Contest in November. The socks are distributed to veterans in a local assisted living center, a local nursing and rehabilitation center, the VA hospital and the Valor Clinic Foundation for homeless veterans.
