Palmerton Borough Council took the following action recently:

• Approved a resolution pertaining to emergency procurement — snow hauling. The borough owes $11,080 to Banko Excavating, and $17,400 to Costenbader Excavating. The borough utilized the services of the contractors to assist in the clearing of snow from roadways during the large snowstorm.

• Approved the advertisement of the first reading of an ordinance amending fire prevention.

• Renewed the snowplow cooperation agreement with Lower Towamensing Township.

• Granted a handicapped parking space request for 266 Avenue A.
