Monroe County approvals
The Monroe County commissioners approved the following items for the various departments within the county during their meeting last week:
• Area Agency on Aging — Title XIX Medicaid Grant Agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, in the amount of $39,892 for the period of Oct. 1, 2025, to June 30, to provide medical assistance information and referral services to people in need of long-term services and support.
• Children and Youth Services — Submittal of the Act 148 first quarter 2025-26 report, total expenditures of $5,134,257. Commissioner John Christy said the county gets reimbursed from the state for these expenditures.
• District Attorney’s Office — Ratify the submittal of the Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification Report, expenditures totaling $15,860.90 for the period ending Dec. 31, 2025.
• Information Technology and Services — Prepaid Services agreement with Illuminated Integration for services for courtroom audio and visual systems.
• Planning Commission — Reappoint Chris Borger to the board with new term to expire Dec. 31, 2029, and acknowledge receipt of the 2025 Monroe County Planning Commission Report. The report will be made available on the county’s website.
• Probation — Beginning the Juvenile Probation Services Grant Agreement in the amount of $96,795, for the period July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
• Office of Emergency Management — Memorandum of Understanding with Eastern Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services Council for EMS Certification Class for Rural Education Program Funding Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support initial certification program.
• Redevelopment Authority — Release of $40,000 from ACT 152 Demolition Program Funds to Smithfield Township for a project on Marshalls Creek Road; and submittal of a contract extension request with the Pennsylvania Department of Community Development for the CDBG 2022 Grant (Borough of East Stroudsburg — Maple Avenue and Berwick Heights Project).
