The Monroe County commissioners declared March 6 as Employee Appreciation Day.
At their meeting on Wednesday, Commissioner David Parker presented a certificate stating the proclamation to Theresa Ratliff, assistant director of Human Resources for Monroe County government.
Parker said that the first Friday of March receives this designation in the United States each year.
The proclamation stated, “The employees of Monroe County provide the highest quality service to the residents of our county and are committed to making our place of work, one of which we can all be proud. … The board extends its appreciation and thanks to the dedicated employees of Monroe County for their outstanding service and invaluable work they perform each day.”
“Thank you, Theresa, for all you do to help our employees in the county and thanks to all the employees for all the work you do,” Parker said.
