St. Matthew’s

St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church — North Weissport, 222 Church St., Lehighton, holds worship at 9 a.m. Sundays. Worship is also offered on Facebook (St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church). Pastor Michael A. Frost presides. All are welcome.

Sunday Church School begins at 10:15 a.m. It is for children ages 3 through 8th grade.

Adult Bible study is held Monday afternoons from 1:30-3 p.m.

Jacobs UCC, 138 Franklin St., Weissport, holds worship services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Mahoning Township Lions

The Mahoning Township Lions announce its Chapel Grove Pavilion, located off Route 443 on Fritz Valley Road, is available for rent. The pavilion is available for family reunions, graduations, weddings, meetings and more. It has indoor seating for 100-plus people.

Lehighton Bible Church

Lehighton Bible Church, 160 Jamestown St., Lehighton, holds Sunday service and Sunday school for the children at 10 a.m.

Tuesday: 7 p.m., Five Smooth Stones Men’s Bible Study.

Wednesday: 6:30 p.m., Adult Bible Study/Prayer Meeting and Club for the Kids.

Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Licensed Lay Minister Kathy Long presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows with a youth-hosted St. Patrick’s theme in Luther Hall.

Sunday Church School classes for students ages 3 through grade 6 plus confirmation classes for those in grades 7-8 at 11 a.m. First Holy Communion class for fifth graders is at noon.

Lent: Holden Evening prayer service will be held through March 25 at 7 p.m., with a 6 p.m. simple soup supper before each devotional.

Church initiatives:

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Cash only sales. Household goods and clothing donations will be accepted during store hours. There is a five bag limit. Use door 2 to bring clothing inside.

Preschool: Trinity’s Jack and Jill Preschool is now accepting registrations for the 2026-27 school year. Any child who is 3, 4, or 5 years old in the fall is eligible to register. BECC

Weekly events:

• Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., Senior Choir Practice.

• Thursday at 6:30 p.m., Handbell Choir Practice; and 6-9 p.m. Men’s Bible study, open to men age 18 and up.

• Spring bazaar and basket raffle: 5-7 p.m. March 20; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 21.

• Homemade Easter candy: Orders can be picked up March 12 from 5-7 p.m.

Christ Evangelical

Christ Evangelical Free Church, 2420 Blakeslee Blvd., Dr., West in Lehighton holds worship service beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday. Sunday School for children and youth is also held every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month at 10:30 a.m.

A food pantry takes place the third Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon.
