Tamaqua woman charged after punching woman, causing serious injury
Autumn Hall, 29, Tamaqua, is facing a number of charges following an early morning March 8 altercation that left another woman hospitalized with serious injuries.
Tamaqua police were dispatched to the 200 block of Cedar Street for two women fighting in the street.
When they arrived, they saw a woman foaming from the mouth on the ground. A woman was attempting to help her by placing her fingers in her mouth to help her breathe, police said.
The woman rendering aid said she was driving by and saw the woman on the ground and called police.
A man told police that he saw Hall punch the woman in the face about five times. The last punch caused the victim to go limp, fall to the ground and strike her head on the sidewalk, he said. Hall then left in a vehicle, the witness said.
The victim was taken to St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale.
Shortly thereafter, police learned that Hall was at the police station with a friend. She admitted to being in the fight but asked for an attorney after being read her rights.
According to police, the victim was taken to St. Luke’s Bethlehem campus.
She told police that she didn’t remember anything about the fight but needs multiple staples in her head, had multiple skull fractures, a brain bleed, fractured elbow and black eye. She said she did not know how long she will be hospitalized.
Another woman told police that she received a message from Hall that said, “Thank you for staying there with that lady. I never intended to hurt her and I think she’s gonna be okay.” The message said she was “remorseful and never meant to hurt her.”
Hall is facing charges of disorderly conduct, aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness,
