At approximately 7:15 p.m. Monday, Lehighton Borough Police Department attempted to stop a motorcycle which was driving recklessly through the borough and failed to display any registration information. The vehicle fled into Weissport and onto Long Run Road. Police discontinued the pursuit per department policy.
While checking the area, officers observed the motorcycle dumped near a wooded area and the operator fleeing on foot into the woods. Attempts to locate the operator were unsuccessful. Police are seeking information on the identity of the operator and or owner of the motorcycle.
The operator was believed to be male, average size, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. The operator’s helmet was found near the motorcycle.
