A Summit Hill woman recently earned a Merit Award in the 1991 Kodak International Newspaper Snapshot Awards Contest for a photograph that first caught the judge’s attention in a contest sponsored by the Times News.

Trisha O’Gorman, a 1985 graduate of Panther Valley High School, took the winning picture at the Philadelphia Zoo. The photograph will be on display at the Eastman Kodak Company’s “Journey into Imagination” Pavilion at the EPCOT Center at the Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

She has been practicing photography for about eight years, and in addition to taking a photography course while she was a student at Panther Valley, she also took a class at the Lehigh County Community College.
