Charlene M. Sabulsky, 55, of McAdoo, was injured when she was struck by a vehicle at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday on the on-ramp to Interstate 81 in Kline Township.
State police at the Frackville barracks said she sustained leg and back injuries and was transported by personnel from the Valley Regional EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
Police said the incident happened when Carolyn Ochoa Morel, 26, of Drums, was operating a 2017 Lincoln on the ramp and attempting to access the interstate. They said she was negotiating a curve when she lost control of the Lincoln and it struck a guide rail. Police said a previous crash had occurred on the ramp and a disabled vehicle was parked on the north shoulder of the road. They said Ochoa Morel swerved to avoid striking the parked vehicle but struck Sabulsky, who was assisting with the prior crash.
The Lincoln had damages to its rear passenger-side bumper.
Police said Ochoa Morel was cited for driving while her license is suspended or revoked.
