Maynard has strong season at Bloomsburg

Panther Valley graduate Maddison Maynard turned in an outstanding sophomore season with the Bloomsburg University women’s basketball team.

The former Panther played in all 30 of the Huskies’ games, starting 24 of them.

Maynard scored 293 points for an average of 9.8 per game, which was second best on her team. She hit on 110 of 256 shots from the floor, for a .430 percentage. She also connected on 67 of 101 free throws (.663 percentage).

The 5-9 guard also was tough on the boards, finishing with 183 rebounds — including 65 at the offensive end. Her 6.1 rpg average was also second best on the team.

She added 35 assists, 21 steals and 13 blocked shots to aid Bloomsburg posting a 16-14 record and a berth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoffs.

Her game highs this season included 22-point efforts against Slippery Rock on Jan. 2 and against Lock Haven on Feb. 25. In the Slippery Rock contest, she also pulled down a season-high 17 rebounds.

Maynard is majoring in digital forensics & cybersecurity, and exercise science.
