West Penn Township police are investigating a crash that occurred Thursday evening along Route 443.

The crash occurred just before 7 p.m. just west of the intersection with Mantzville Road east involving two vehicles.

It appeared to be a head-on crash, with one vehicle apparently traveling west crossed the wet road entering the berm taking down several trees before re-entering the road and hitting with an eastbound sport utility vehicle.

Members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance were evaluating those involved. West Penn fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway.

West Penn Township police are investigating the incident.
