The Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Lehighton has a new station commander.
Sgt. Robert H. Marks, 43, of Lehighton R.3, has been named to succeed Sgt. Charles T. Romanisko, Jim Thorpe, who retired earlier this year.
Sgt. Marks is a 1965 graduate of Lebanon High School and a 1969 graduate of Shippensburg University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in business. He then received additional credits from the Pennsylvania State University.
He enlisted in the state police in 1972 and was assigned to a patrol unit at the Avondale station. In 1976, he became an investigator with the Crime unit of Troop J, Avondale, serving in that capacity until his promotion to corporal in 1983. Upon being promoted to sergeant, he was assigned to Troop N, Hazleton.
