Nesquehoning Borough Council acted on or discussed the following items during its monthly meeting last week.
• Approved two resolutions — one appointing the sewer enforcement officers and the other establishing the sewer enforcement fees.
• Approved a resolution for the 2026 UCC fee scheduled.
• Announced that Bitfarms Ltd. is helping the borough by repairing the borough’s front-end loader.
“We’re purchasing the parts and they’re providing the labor,” Council President Bruce Nalesnik said, adding that the company reached out to Nesquehoning to assist in the repairs.
• Council thanked the streets crew, other employees and fire police for their work during the January winter storms.
• Announced openings on several boards, such as an alternate for the zoning hearing board. Letters of interest are being accepted.
• Council opened a second round of applications for a full-time police officer after the first round of applicants didn’t meet the requirements.
