The 13th annual Marian Catholic High School Polar Plunge at Mauch Chunk Lake is now slated to take place on March 14.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. in the pavilion near the beach area, with the first jump starting at noon. People can register to either be a plunger or a chicken, someone who doesn’t enter the water but helps the school with its fundraiser.

Costumes are highly encouraged and prizes for best costume will be awarded.

In previous years nearly 100 plungers from 15 counties and even five states dressed up and made the jump.
