Tamaqua police reported the following incidents:

• Police cited a Coaldale man after a neighbor reported that the man waved a “firearm” and yelled at her while he was outside his home.

The firearm turned out to be a pellet gun, but police charged Christopher Gouin, 38, with disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness after the Feb. 24 incident.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Ridge Street in Coaldale around 7 a.m. for a report of a man yelling, screaming and holding a gun.

Police arrived and spoke to Gouin, who said he didn’t have anything on him.

Officers said he appeared intoxicated.

Gouin told police that he had issues with some neighbors because of his dogs, and that he shouted at one neighbor who had yelled at his wife.

The neighbor showed police a cellphone video of Gouin that she had taken. Police showed the video to Gouin, who admitted to yelling and said he had a BB gun in his hands. He then showed officers the BB gun.

• A Tamaqua man was committed to Schuylkill County Prison after he allegedly threw a pool table ball at a woman and struck her in the face.

Police said Steven Heffelfinger, 54, of Tamaqua, faces charges of simple assault and harassment in the Feb. 25 incident.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the unit block of Bowe Street and spoke to a woman who said that she and Heffelfinger were arguing, and that he threw the ball at her.

Heffelfinger denied the allegation and initially refused to answer questions asked by officers.

He was arraigned and jailed in lieu of $2,500 percentage bail. Heffelfinger subsequently posted bail.

A preliminary hearing before District Judge Stephen Bayer has been scheduled for March 10.
