Polk Township Supervisors conducted the following business:
• Brian Ahner discussed upgrading safety, including replacing a piece of glass on the backhoe and in lieu of buying a paver replacing a truck.
• Solid waste and recycling center permits will be on sale March 1 through April 15 at a cost of $135 per year. Joseph Randis’ 90-day probationary period at the center has ended, so he is now a full-time employee.
• Lehigh Valley Health Network has offered free CPR courses for township employees.
• Time extensions were given to IBC Properties minor subdivision until April 27 and West End Holdings major subdivision until May 1.
• A resolution about conference reimbursement policy was tabled.
• In January, the Polk Township Fire Company responded to 18 emergencies and completed 105 hours of training. For February they responded to 15 emergencies, making a year to date total of 33. Two members are taking an Essentials of Firefighting training at the Monroe County Public Safety Center.
