Monroe County Coroner Tom Yanac Jr. identified the woman who was fatally shot Thursday night as Joanne Beauvais, 45, of Lackawanna County.

Beauvais was pronounced deceased in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono Emergency Department, at 11:55 p.m. Thursday, after an incident in the 3200 block of Mountain Terrace Drive, Blakeslee.

The cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds. The manner of death is homicide.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department is conducting the investigation into the incident.

Eric Chisolm, 47, of Blakeslee, has been charged with criminal homicide after shooting Beauvais Thursday night.

At 10:37 p.m. the Pocono Mountain Regional Police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Mountain Terrace, Blakeslee.

The caller, Chisolm, said he had shot a burglar who was outside of his window, police said. Chisolm then advised dispatch that he thought he had shot a delivery person.

Officers found Beauvais dead on the driveway of the residence. Her vehicle was parked and running in the driveway.

Through an investigation, it was determined that Beauvais was in a relationship with Chisolm, police said.

Police said Chisolm fired his handgun through a window, striking Beauvais, who was outside of the residence.
