State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Joseph F. Kocha, 79, of Saylorsburg, was involved in a one-vehicle crash at 7:46 p.m. Feb. 18 on Route 115 in Ross Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus, Easton.

They said he was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Passat when he lost control of it on a left-hand curve in the road. The car left the roadway and crashed into a tree on the north berm.

It was heavily damaged and towed from the scene.

Kocha was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Tyler C. Conklin, 24, of Gilbert, was treated after a two-vehicle crash at 2:31 p.m. Feb. 20 on Interchange Road (Route 209) in Polk Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.

They said the crash occurred when Mary B. Steffy, 22, of Stroudsburg, was driving a 2012 Suzuki westbound and did not stop at a red light at the intersection of Burger Hollow Road. The Suzuki was struck by a 2014 Volkswagen Passat operated by Conklin, police said.

Both vehicles had disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

Steffy was cited after the crash, according to police.
