CCTI students receive certifications
Dave Reinbold, administrative director of the Carbon Career & Technical Institute in Jim Thorpe, reported that a number of CCTI students received certifications in different areas.
The following four health medical seniors have received their CNA certifications: Gabriella Napoletano (Jim Thorpe), Kymber Mehlig (Weatherly), Mckenzie Holt (Lehighton) and Mackenzie Stein (Lehighton).
The following graphic design students received all three of their Adobe Suite certifications for Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign: Gabryelle Barnett (Lehighton, senior), Alexander Daku (Palmerton, junior), Autumn Heintzelman (Lehighton, junior), Alexandra Janulin (Panther Valley, senior), Leah Knappenbereger (Palmerton, junior), Amanda Martell (Jim Thorpe, junior), Xavier Philipovich (Panther Valley, senior), Isabella Riggio (Lehighton, senior), Genesis Robinson (Jim Thorpe, junior), Amelia Roy (Panther Valley, junior), Brandon Ryan (Weatherly, junior), Violet Steele (Palmerton, junior), Kadence Tully (Palmerton, senior).
This list of certificate holders encompasses all junior and senior graphic design students currently enrolled.
Nicholas Hadz (Jim Thorpe) and Lucas Miller (Palmerton), two auto service and technology seniors, qualified in the top 10 of all of the state career and technical schools by their high scores on a written exam. They competed Feb. 19 in the hands-on portion of the contest sponsored by the Pennsylvania Automotive Association and the Harrisburg Auto Dealers Association at the Antique Auto Museum in Hershey.
Chritopher Garey (Palmerton) and Lucas Miller (Palmerton), two auto service and technology seniors, earned second place at the greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Competition on Feb. 13. They were presented with 50% scholarships to UTI as well as multiple tools.
CTE Month
February is CTE (Career and Technical Education Month). Some of the activities held at CCTI include administrators from sending school districts serving ice cream to their home district students during lunch; a door decorating contest; eighth grade tours and shadowing (all ages); a Valentine’s Day dance; and a drunken driving simulator.
