The Palmerton Area Library is preparing for its Seed Library to open to the public in the upcoming months. If there are any businesses or community members who would be willing to donate any seeds, be it store purchased or seeds from your own stock, the library would love to have some in its collection. Drop off any seeds at the Palmerton Area Library and ask that they be given to Shawn.

The Palmerton Library is located at 402 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.

In addition, the library will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday from 4-6:30 p.m. on March 2. It will include reading, trivia, art projects, a dance party and birthday cake. Those attending are asked to dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss character.

Blue Mountain Community Church

Sunday services: Blue Mountain Community Church, 25 Oak St., Palmerton, invites you to weekly Sunday services held at 8:45 and 10:30 a.m.

Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. A contemporary service is held at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. A traditional service is held at 11 a.m.

Jerusalem UCC, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville), holds worship services at 10 a.m. every Sunday in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Marian Johnson officiates.

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton, holds worship service every Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m.

Annual Spring Basket Social: The church will hold its Spring Basket Social on March 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be theme baskets and raffle, homemade barbecue, soups, filling and baked goods. Questions contact 610-681-5200.

St. John Neumann Regional School

The 29th annual SJNRS Basket Social has been extended to this weekend because of last week’s weather.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the school, 259 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton
