State police at Frackville - crashes

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:

• Sandra A. Merola, 60, of McAdoo, had minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 5:44 a.m. Feb. 9 on South Kennedy Drive (Route 309), Kline Township, police said.

She did not require an emergency medical services transport from the scene.

Police said Merola was driving a 2012 Chrysler on Grove Street when she turned in front of a 2003 Jeep operated south on Route 309 by Zachary T. Kunkel, 25, of Kelayres, causing a collision. Kunkel was uninjured.

Police said the Chrysler was towed from the scene, while the Jeep was able to be driven from it.

• Richa Velazquez Jimenez, 21, of Beaver Meadows, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 6:09 p.m. Feb. 16 on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2014 Toyota Camry southbound when he lost control on a right-hand curve and the car struck a concrete barrier. They said Velazquez Jimenez continued to drive the car onto the Morea Road before it became disabled.
