State police at Fern Ridge — crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following accidents:

• Justin J. Keglic, 27, of Swiftwater, and George H. Kammer Jr., 45, of Stroudsburg, were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 1:10 a.m. Feb. 20 on State Street in White Haven Borough.

Police said they were transported by personnel from the Valley Regional Fire and Rescue and Lake Harmony Rescue Squad Ambulance Corps, respectively, to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. They said the severity of their injuries are unknown.

Police said Keglic was driving a 2013 Toyota, with Kammer was a passenger. They said he was westbound when a deer entered the path of the vehicle, prompting Keglic to swerve to the right. The car left the roadway and struck a boulder. It sustained disabling front-end damages.

Police said Keglic was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

• Paulina Nadzinski, 25, of Saylorsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a one-vehicle crash at 10:04 p.m. Jan. 15 on White Pine Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2022 Mazda that left the road and struck several shrubs and a tree stump along the roadside. Police said she exhibited signs of impairment at the scene and was taken into custody.

In addition to the pending DUI charge she was cited for violations of the Motor Vehicle Code.

• Michael A. Mascarenas, 38, of Red Hill, is facing drug possession charges after police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 2:32 a.m. Jan. 1 on Stony Mountain Road, Penn Forest Township.

Police said he had minor injuries and was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.

Police said he was driving a 2010 Ford Escape eastbound when it traveled into the westbound lane, exited the road and struck a tree.

The car was towed from the scene.

They said Mascarenas was found to be in possession of marijuana.

He was also cited for the crash.
