A woman was rescued from her overturned car in the Little Schuylkill River in Tamaqua.

The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. as she was traveling on Pine Street, Route 309.

She lost control, traveling over a set of guiderails and coming to rest on its roof in the river.

The victim was hanging upside down in the vehicle being held by the seat belts as the waters of the river ran through the car. Rescuers used a ladder to gain access to the vehicle.
