Turnpike incidents
State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following incidents that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
• Wesley Philp, 25, of Saylorsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:02 a.m. on Feb. 15.
He was stopped in a 2017 Infiniti after which police said they discovered him to be under the influence of marijuana.
• Police said Dwayne Lamont Brown Jr. was cited as the owner/operator of a vehicle that had fraudulent annual and emission inspection stickers on it when it was stopped at 12:27 p.m. on Feb. 13 at mile marker 66.1 in Washington Township.
Police said they stopped a 2020 Kia Optima for an expired registration, and discovered the fraudulent stickers. Police did not provide Brown’s address.
They said the victim is Chug’s Automotive, Port Allegany.
• Zachary O’Neal of Philadelphia, was cited for driving a vehicle that had a suspended registration and fraudulent inspection stickers after police made a traffic stop at 10:37 a.m. on Feb. 13 at mile marker 68.4 in Washington Township.
Police said O’Neal was stopped in a 2009 Toyota Camry for a registration violation. They said the registration was suspended for not complying with turnpike tolls. It was then determined the annual and emission stickers on the car were fraudulent.
Police said the victim of the incident is 1st Rate Auto and Truck Repair, Philadelphia.
• Nathan Davis, 28, of Philadelphia, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 1:22 p.m. on Dec. 31 at mile marker 68.2 in Washington Township.
Police said he was stopped in a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee for an expired registration. They said in addition to being under the influence, Davis was found to be driving while his license is suspended for DUI-related offenses.
