Kid Zone seeking sponsors, participants

Carbon County Kid Zone, in conjunction with state Sen. David Argall, state Rep. Doyle Heffley and the Carbon County commissioners, will again host Community Safety Day this spring.

The event, held annually at Mauch Chunk Lake in Jim Thorpe, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 2. It is held rain or shine.

Planning is currently underway and the planning committee is looking for sponsors, as well as organizations that would like to set up a booth at the event.

To become a sponsor, email CarbonKidZone@gmail.com.

Checks can be made payable to Carbon County Community Foundation; put “Kid Zone” in the memo line. Mail checks to Chris Simock, 162 Mahoning Heights Road, Lehighton, PA 18235 by April 10. Information needed with the donation should include the company’s name and address, a contact person, phone number and email address.

For organizations wishing to set up a booth at the event, registration is now open by emailing the above email address with the following information: agency name, address and phone number, an email address and contact person, as well as the number of volunteers who will be at the event, how much space is needed and if electricity is needed.

Agencies setting up booths are required to have a child-friendly activity focused on some safety measure.

Tables, chairs and tents are not provided.

The deadline to register is April 10.
