February 7, 2004 — Matt Gould hits a milestone as Pleasant Valley gains a 54-47 Mountain Valley Conference victory over visiting Pocono Mountain East. Gould, who finishes with a game-high 19 points, hits a free throw with 27.8 seconds remaining in the contest to reach 1,000 career points. His two foul shots not only allow him to reach four digits but it gives the Bears, coached by Ken Piontkowski, a five-point lead to basically secure the win. Tom Kresge aids the PV cause with a double-double, scoring 13 points and collecting 12 rebounds. Andrew Outlaw also adds 11 points.
