Sew What Quilt Guild to meet Friday
The next meeting of the Sew What Quilt Guild is Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Palmerton Area Library.
The kits to create a small wall hanging with patriotic quilt blocks about the size of a placemat to give to local merchants for display in their window to commemorate the 250th anniversary of this country will be handed out at the meeting.
If you are not able to attend and want to get a kit, please let the group know. You can pick it up at the library during normal hours.
The block must be returned by the March meeting.
For those members who wish to participate in the Quilt Block Contest, the white material for the block will be distributed at the February meeting. Again, if you are unable to attend this meeting, let the guild know so you can pick up the fabric at the library. This block must be returned by the April meeting.
The guild will be having a basket raffle at the library. Baskets can be any theme except alcohol.
The baskets will be due at the April meeting. The raffle will continue through the Airing of the Quilts on May 2. The proceeds will be split 50/50 with the library.
If you have not paid your yearly dues, Barbara will be collecting them at the meeting. If you wish to pay by check, make check payable to Sew What Quilt Club.
Check out Wawak.com for all sewing related items. There will be Show ‘N Tell.
