State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 56-year-old man from Greentown is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance following a traffic stop police made at 2:33 a.m. Jan. 30.

He was stopped in a 2008 Ford Ranger for a Motor Vehicle Code Violation on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

• Police are investigating a theft of services/identity theft incident.

A 64-year-old man from Saylorsburg reported that between Dec. 10 and Jan. 28 he received multiple cellphone bills from Verizon for services he did not subscribe to or authorize.

• Police responded to a Dog Law violation at 1:31 p.m. Jan. 17 at 105 Forsythia Lane, Polk Township.

They said a 35-year-old man from Bethlehem was bitten by a dog.

• A 22-year-old man from East Stroudsburg was cited for public drunkenness after police were called to Blue Mountain Drive, Lower Towamensing Township.

The incident occurred at 9:16 p.m. Jan. 7.

• A 41-year-old man from Gilbert is the victim of a theft of services incident reported to police at 9:52 a.m. Jan. 28.

Police said they were called to Interchange Road, Polk Township, where the man told them he was not paid by a customer for cleaning services rendered in 2024.
