Nesquehoning man charged after drug investigation

A Nesquehoning man faces criminal charges after a weekslong drug trafficking investigation and search of his home Friday.

Richard Padora, 41, of Stock Street, was arraigned last week on charges on charges on possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is free on $40,000 unsecured bail.

According to court papers, the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at 38 Stock St., Nesquehoning, at 6:01 a.m. and Padora was taken into custody walking to his vehicle.

The SERT Team turned the scene over to the agents from the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and the Carbon County Drug Task Force, who conducted a search.

The agents found paraphernalia, including digital scales and a glass pipe; 30 Suboxone tablets and 52 grams of marijuana, court papers said.

Padora was taken to Nesquehoning Police Headquarters, where he provided consent and the password for his cellular phone to search the device.

Numerous text message conversations discussing buying and selling controlled substances were found, court papers said.
