Robert George Ritter, 78 of Lower Macungie Township, died after a long battle with cancer Jan. 19,2026, at. Born April 2, 1947 in Allentown, he was the son of the late Paul E. Ritter and Phylis Evans Ritter. He was the husband of Susan Mesch Ritter for 17 years.

He graduated from William Allen HS and then earned his BS in engineering from Lafayette College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in a NATO unit in the Netherlands during the Vietnam War.

He ran his own consulting engineering firm for over 20 years. He then went on to work for several design and build companies as a project manager until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Alissa of Asburn, VA; son, Jared Ritter, wife Lindsay; grandsons, Liam and Caden of Hellertown; sister, Phylis Stephens of Slatington. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard.

His cremated remains will be buried at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a later date.
