Nesquehoning police are warming up their throwing arms and kicking legs in preparation of a community fun night.
On Wednesday, Police Chief Brad Hess said they are again holding Sports Night with Nesquehoning police on Feb. 27 at Narrow Valley Sportsplex.
The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. and open to children ages 4 to 17. It will feature a variety of sports, including basketball, baseball, soccer, pickleball, volleyball and dodgeball.
There also will be giveaways, raffles and other fun activities.
“It was a great event last year,” Hess said. “We had close to 300 kids there, so we are hoping to have another big night.
“I hope everybody can come out.”
According to the Sportsplex website, families are welcome to drop off their kids or stay and watch; however, waivers must be signed before the event.
Last year, the department and Sportsplex teamed up and opened the facility to a night of sports-related fun, community team-building so youngsters could get to know the officers who patrol the borough.
At that time, Hess said the event was a perfect way to help build a relationship with the residents. Kids flocked to the event.
