State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:

• Salvador B. Santana, 50, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 7:18 a.m. Jan. 18 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. He was uninjured in the mishap.

Police said he was driving a 2019 Ford F650 eastbound and was traveling too fast for conditions when he lost control of the vehicle. It left the right travel lane and struck a tree, spun 180 degrees and came to rest in the eastbound lane.

The vehicle had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

• Pamela Roche, 65, of Effort, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a one-vehicle crash at 5:19 p.m. Jan. 8 on Jonas Road in Chestnuthill Township. She was uninjured in the incident.

Police said she was driving a 2019 Toyota Camry that traveled off the right side of the road and struck a large tree. Police said she told them she swerved the vehicle to avoid striking a deer that entered the roadway.

She was also cited for leaving the roadway, police said.

The Camry had disabling damage.

• Bradley R. Johnson, 39, of Effort, had possible injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 9:44 a.m. Jan. 18 on Route 715 in Jackson Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.

The said the crash occurred as he was driving a 2004 Nissan Sentra northbound when he lost control of it due to inclement weather conditions. It traveled off the right side of the road and struck a guide rail before entering the southbound lane and striking a 2021 Peterbilt driven by David J. Horacek, 32, of Stroudsburg.

Police said the Sentra had disabling damage, while the Peterbilt had minor damages.
