Walking track
The Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville offers many activities, including walking track hours.
Those times are: Monday, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, noon to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, noon to 7:30 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Sunday, closed.
Hours are subject to change without notice.

Special sale
The Monroe County Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore has announced a special sale on Friday, during which customers will get 25% off on plumbing department purchases.

Feb. 1 events, orders
• The Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club block shoot and meat raffle is happening Feb. 1, beginning at 11 a.m. at 122 Gun Club Lane in Saylorsburg.
The public is welcome. It is a 12-gauge shotgun-only event.
• St. Matthew’s ECC Church in Kunkletown is holding a soup sale. Orders are due by Feb. 1. Available will be cheese Normandy soup, hamburger vegetable soup and chicken bowtie soup.

Pickup is 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 7 and 10:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 8.
• Effort UMC’s Youth Missions Team is holding a stromboli sale, with orders being accepted through Feb. 1.
The sale is a benefit for the group’s upcoming mission trip to Wallingsford, Connecticut.
Available types are broccoli and cheese, pepperoni and cheese, and cheesesteak. For the cost of each kind call the church at 570-629-1890. Pickup is Feb. 15.
Groups to meet
• Effort UMC’s Prayer Shawl ministry will be meeting Tuesday, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
• Zion Lutheran’s Knit & Crochet group members ply their collective talents at 1 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
Mr. Pastie sale
The Laymen’s group at St. Matthew’s ECC in Kunkletown is holding a handmade pasties sale Feb. 1-22.
Orders and money are due on Feb. 22. Pasties can be picked up at St. Matthew’s on March 16.
Being offered are original beef, with or without onions; chicken, Italian sausage; veggie melt; and spinach melt. Small fruit pies are also available.

Bereavement group
St. Luke’ s Hospice offers a Brodheadsville Bereavement group for adults at the Western Pocono Community Library.
The group is open to the public and is led by a St. Luke’s Hospice bereavement counselor.
No preregistration is required. The meetings are held from 1-2:30 p.m. The next one is scheduled for Feb. 4.

Youth dinner
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Brodheadsville is holding a Youth Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Feb. 6 for those who have served the church in various ways: altar servers, junior choir members, youth group, church decorators, VBS helpers, religious education aides, CSS and Mission meal volunteers, flea market helpers.
Sign up by Feb. 4 for the 6-8 p.m. event.

Souper Bowl
• After all the Masses during Super Bowl of Caring weekend (Feb. 7-8), the youth of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Brodheadsville will be collecting donations for those in need in the church community.
• Effort UMC will have soup pots in the Narthex for donations of canned goods such as fruit, pasta, vegetables, sauces and other nonperishables. The church will also have a competition involving the teams that will be playing in this year’s Super Bowl. Each soup pot will have a team name so people can vote for their favorites by placing donations in that particular pot. There will be a third pot for donations from those whose favorite team didn’t make the Super Bowl but who wish to donate. It is requested that donations be in by Feb. 8.
• St. Matthew’s ECC, Kunkletown, is collecting cans of soup for the month. All soup collected will go to the West Food Pantry.
Help needed
The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network needs the following personal care items: body wash, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste and baby products.

Property tax relief is available through the Homestead Exclusion Act. To apply, a Homestead Exclusion application must be filed with the Monroe County Assessment Office before March 1.
