St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church — North Weissport, 222 Church St., Lehighton, holds worship at 9 a.m. Sundays. Worship is also offered on Facebook (St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church). Pastor Michael A. Frost presides. All are welcome.

Sunday Church School begins at 10:15 a.m. It is for children ages 3 through 8th grade.

Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Licensed Lay Minister Kathy Long presides. Coffeehouse fellowship in Luther Hall follows.

The congregational meeting will take place at 11 a.m. Feb. 1 in Luther Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to review reports of officers and organizations of Trinity.

There will be no Sunday Church School classes. Confirmation students are to attend with a parent or guardian. Classes resume Feb. 8.

Information regarding inclement weather on worship service days of other events: within two hours of the start time, a recorded message will be placed on the church phone. Delay or closing can be seen on WFMZ-TV, its website, and Trinity’s Facebook page.

Free movie night: Feb. 21, 7 p.m. “Freakier Friday” in Luther Hall. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase as a Youth Group fundraiser.

Souper Bowl: Monetary donations called “Souper Bowl” will be received on “Super Bowl” Sunday at the conclusion of the Feb. 8 worship. Soup pots labeled “New England Patriots,” “Seattle Seahawks” and “I don’t care” (who wins) will be available. Please place a monetary donation according to your preference. Donations benefit the Trinity Pantry.

Church initiatives:

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Cash only sales. Household goods and clothing donations will be accepted during store hours. There is a five bag limit. Use door 2 to bring clothing inside.

Christ Evangelical

Christ Evangelical Free Church, 2420 Blakeslee Blvd., Dr., West in Lehighton holds worship service beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday. Sunday School for children and youth is also held every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month at 10:30 a.m.

A Food Pantry takes place the third Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon.
