Palmerton has made the final installment for a sewer lining project.
Borough council on a 6-0 vote Thursday approved a payment to Mr. Rehab in the amount of $20,610 for 2025 sewer lining work.
Councilman Richard Nothstein was absent.
After the meeting, borough Manager Autumn Canfield said that the project is now completed.
In August, borough council approved a recommendation for Costars vendor work for sanitary sewer lining to Mr. Rehab, in the amount of $186,258.
Canfield said the sewer lining was a continuation of a multiyear project the borough has in place to extend the life of the lines.
Canfield said that in the first year, deteriorated pipes that were in too poor condition to line were fixed.
She added that televising of the lines began several years ago, and that the first year of rehabilitation work was in 2023.
Canfield noted that the borough plans to continue lining every year.
She said the borough currently has a small water and sewer grant pending, but had not heard back about that yet.
